PTHS School of the Month

The Celestino Fernández Learning Center was one of the original seven schools opened by PPEP TEC High School in 1995. Now located at 1840 E. Benson Highway, the school has the largest enrollment of the 12 learning centers. There are three class sessions available for students between 15 and 21 years to choose from: morning, afternoon or evening.

Current students believe that PPEP TEC High School is a good alternative to the traditional high school:

“I like that the classes at PPEP TEC are small--you don’t get distracted.”

“It’s a safe environment, which is one of the reasons I have been coming here for two years.”

“The teachers are really helpful. The one-on-one instruction helped me pass my writing AIMS test.”

Students who want to earn their high school diploma should call (520) 294-6997 for enrollment information for the 2007-08 school year.

What is PPEP TEC?

PPEP TEC High School is a publicly-financed  statewide system whose purpose is to  provide an alternative educational program  for students ages fifteen to twenty-one, in  grades nine through twelve.

The primary focus of the school is on high academic standards, technology and school-to-work programs for sons and daughters of migrant and seasonal farm workers in rural Arizona, at-risk students, high school dropouts or students who work.

Each student is actively engaged in an up-to-date, individualized educational program designed to assist students in obtaining a high school diploma and employability skills.

Education through PPEP TEC is FREE to the student.
